So… I realized that this September marked the tenth anniversary of my move to Detroit. In honor of my “Decade in Detroit”, I’ve come up with a list of 10 things to do in Detroit proper, most I have not done before and some (like #1) are just favorites.

1. Have brunch and bottomless mimosas at the Majestic.
2. Go to a Tigers game.
3. Attend an opera or ballet at the Detroit Opera House
4. Take a Diamond Jack’s River Tour
5. Visit the Motown Museum
6. Go to Baker’s Keyboard Lounge
7. Tour the Belle Isle Conservatory
8. See the Heidelberg Project
9. Celebrate Oktoberfest at the Dakota Inn Rathskeller
10. Enjoy a drink and the view from the top of the Ren Cen

(Currently, I’ve accomplished 1 and 2 — It figures, the two things that I had done before: It is always easier to do the things you know first. — Tickets for 3 are being bought tomorrow: The Miami City Ballet here I come…)
