Vancouver recently released their three mascots for the 2010 Olympics — Thanks for the post notcot. I can’t stop smiling at these little guys: They are adorable! And the way they introduced them to the public is perfect: you can “meet” each character on the site and it tells you their respective “home”, hobbies, favorite food, etc… The characters have personalities, voices (literally), and life — with cuteness to boot!
To meet the characters yourself, check out the official Vancouver 2010 Olympic site and the extensive mascot microsite with tons of activities for the kids (and even adults…). The video introduces you (and the world) to the trio: Miga is a young sea bear (half orca/half bear), Quatchi is a lovable, clumsy sasquatch (with a camera) and Sumi is our animal spirit guide and guardian. All are inspired by local legend and brought to life by the duo at Meomi Design.
I admit, until seeing this I hadn’t realized that the olympics had mascots. Perhaps the others didn’t have the spunk and dimension that these three have: Miga loves outdoor sports in her spare time, Quatchi sports bright blue earmuffs and Sumi’s favorite food food is hot cocoa, for crying out loud! I can’t wait to see what role these three will play throughout the promotion of and games themselves!
