As mentioned in a few previous posts, I’ve taken a shine to cooking at home in the last year or so. It’s fun to find a recipe, do the shopping and then make it happen and taste good! (I am not one of those people who can wing a recipe, I need to follow instructions, which makes cooking like an enjoyable puzzle.) Not to mention that it beats eating out expense-wise and a lot of the times taste-wise too… Add in some wine and friends and it’s a fantastic night.
Also over the last couple of years, many of my close friends have become geographically-far-friends. Which, sadly, makes dinner parties with them few and far between. Enter the lovely MaryBeth and her brilliant idea to create Bacon vs. Tofu, a blog where we can all “share recipes that made our day and filled our bellies.” Many of the contributing ladies are vegetarian, including myself, so the majority, if not all of the recipes will be meat-free. But you never know, one of us might give in one day to the always tempting ingredient: Bacon.
Check out my recent Soba-Noodle Salad recipe here, originally found, unmodified, on Martha.
Yum!
