A couple of years ago I was enjoying Eastern Market with a friend. It was a beautiful late summer day and we were chatting and walking along through the endless tables of flowers for sale. As we turned a corner, she gasped as if we had been watching a horror movie and it had just gotten to the part where the masked killer shows up out of nowhere. She exclaimed, “Mums!” This reaction continues to be one of my favorites — it was just so unexpected! She went on to explain that she’s always sad when the mums start showing up at the market because it’s a sign that summer’s ending. Everyone I know agrees that it’s hard to beat a Michigan summer, and any sign of it ending, no matter how pretty they are, is always bittersweet. But I’ve always loved mums, their color palette is right up my alley. So, with this illustration, I’m hoping to help mums get a better rep…

This Mother’s Day cards features an original vector illustration of mums for your mom. The front of each card features a pop of purple and the simple wish — “Happy Mother’s Day”— while the blank inside leaves plenty of room for a hand-written personal message to your favorite lady. A perfect card for any mom you know — be it your own, your mother-in-law, your sister or friend — Let them know they have your appreciation and love, today and always.

Each card measures 4.125” x 5.5” (folded). The card stock is Mohawk Via Satin 100 lb. cover stock in Bright White. It’s made with 30% post consumer waste fiber and is produced with wind-generated electricity. An A2 envelope with European inspired pointed flap, in chocolate brown, accompanies each card. The designs are printed on a Canon iP4200 and are hand-cut and folded to size. (Please note that the color of the actual printed pieces may vary from the photographs due to inconsistencies in computer monitor settings.)
