I’m not sure what it is about today, but everyone seems to have Holland on their mind — Martha Stewart had the talented Dutch floral duo Remco Van Vliet and Cas Trap of New York’s Van Vliet & Trap Florists on today creating gorgeous handheld bouquets, Daily Candy’s Travel edition features Amsterdam and it’s highlights, and Mail Online marks the tulips’ grand entrance once again this year.
There is an endless amount of reasons to love The Netherlands and its people. The tulip fields and their rows and rows of vibrant colors are near the top of my list: In company, of course, with all things design-related, bicycling, the museums and every fond memory of my July there some years ago. The aerial photographs of the fields are stunning and the numbers that accompany the business side of the tulips are equally as impressive: Each year, the Netherlands sells $55 billion in flowers, exporting 66% of all fresh-cut flowers in the world!
Enjoy the botanical stripes!
